Have you ever admired a friend that you will be happy to share some similarities with him/her?

Okay, so here is this friend of mine. Though we aren’t that close like sisters, I felt comfortable with her everytime we met, because she just have that charm, which I can describe as you know –“ a person whom you can be comfortable with even you just met her for the first time.” Plus, she’s a friend who will accept and respect you for who you are. Warm, friendly and had a good sense of humour, that's the basic qualities that I can use to describe her.

I just realized that though we came from places which are miles apart, we shared some similarities.

Well, let me have the honour of counting the similarities I have with her..

Counting 1) She, is the youngest of three sisters.

So am I. ;)

Counting 2) She speaks Hokkien at home

Okay, okay, so I was bluffing for portraying her like a celebrity earlier, but hey, it wasn't far from the truth as she will be the celebrated person of the day.

So dear Step,

Hope you have a blessed 21st birthday today. I know that I won't be able to celebrate it with you and them all namely Sally, Pamela, Amanda, Celestine, but my force will always be with you. *insert Star War song* And Clare, are you at Kuching or Singapore that time? If you're at Kuching, it will be merrier yeah~! ;)

Since you are the latest among us to reach 21 years old, there's 21 mad tips I am sharing with you on what you should do when you are 21.

1) Take 21 pictures of yourself with your cake from every angle during your birthday
Explanation: It's legal to be vain (with your birthday cake) on your birthday, girl.. ;)

2) Go clubbing

Explanation: Not that disco clubbing (kalau ada simpat duit, bolehlah.. hehe, tapi sebab aku yg lebih tua belum pernah pergi, berat hatilah nak suruh you all overtake me and pergi), but join more clubs.. heheh.. such as Yoga club, or sports club to broaden your knowledge and contacts..

3) Take care of your skin
Explanation: Yes, once you reach your 20's, your skin will be matured, and you have to take extra care. Well, my skin isn't getting any much better here.. Huhu..

4) Be prepared if someone is trying to propose you.
Explanation: Lol.. Okay, this one is coming soon I see. You have to answer according to situation, but whatever your decision is, I will always support you! ;)

5) Drive the car at 21 km/hour
Explanation: You have to let people see clearly the nice car that you are driving, dear.. hehe

6) Shop for formal clothes
Explanation: You will need this when you join the workforce later. ;)

7) Start blogging!
Explanation: Cause Amanda and Pam are doing it, so you better feel the peer pressure of being 21.

8) Smile in your sleep
Explanation: You are entering your legal age, so why not? ;)

9) Sleep at the library
Explanation: My challenge for you - cause I just did that today! (and not proud of it! Huhu~)

10) Start swimming yo~
Explanation: Cause swimming is good to keep fit (not that you need to keep fit that much) but it's a skill which can make you more independent at this legal age.

11) Explore somewhere you haven't been to at Kuching
Explanation: Cause now you can go to any place you can go. You're 21 girl. :)

12) Read all the books from your favourite authors
Explanation: Because it's better to read first then watch the movie, not watch first then read the book. Cause you will feel less clueless this way. ;)

13) Watch Michael Jackson movie!
Explanation: Cause I want to watch it but I couldn't so, let you watch on my behalf. Hehe.

14) Kiss each and everyone of your girlfriends who surprised you on your birthday! (Boys are excluded from this dare)
Explanation: Cause they're your girls! Simple as that. hehe..

15) Tell 21 truths about yourself in facebook and tag 21 friends.
Explanation: Cause it will be fun? heheh..

16) Call your mom and ask her what she did on her 21st birthday.
Explanation: It's sweet and you can know more about your beloved person in the family.

17) Dance to the Chicken dance tune.
Explanation: It's a healthy form of exercise. (Actually I got this idea when Hawa danced to the Chicken dance in front of me while blogging from DK foyer. heheh..)

18) Say "I am a confident person" in front of the mirror every morning for 21 days.
Explanation: This can build up your confidence. Heheh.

19) Laugh 21 times.
Explanation: Cause this is a mad tip.

20) Act like 16.
Explanation: To fool the juniors - lol, and let them feel guilty when they finally know that you are actually their senior. ;)

21) Last but not least, Tiup all the lilin and make 21 wishes.
Explanation: This is compulsory and making many wishes can increase the probability of your wish to come true. At least one wish from 21 wishes come true also means that your wish came true, right? heheh.. So merapu here.

It's Esther Day, Not Easter Day ...

Esther, seated at the centre, cause she's the centre of our attention, y'all!!

HAPPY ESTHER DAY!!

I know the title of this post is lame but what can you expect from lameleftygirl, right?

Today, 14th September is a very special day because it's the birthday of my special friend, Miss Esther Sia. ;) Though I just met her during form 6, I knew that she's a friend whom you can count on all your life. I had negative impressions on form 6 at first, but when Esther appeared, she just changed my form 6 years, and not me alone, but the whole class. ;)

HOW SHE HAD BEEN A SIGNIFICANT FIGURE DURING MY FORM 6 YEARS:

1)She had made my Form 6 life a cheerful one, besides being a great mentor. ;) She was very spontaneous in joking, and she had great social skills. She could make a lot of people felt close to her.

2) She made people around her laugh, and even when she was supposed to be sad, she could made people around her happy. She didn't want people to be sad for her sake.

3) She was an independent figure who inspired us, the rest of her classmates. Coming all the way from Miri to Sibu to further her Form 6 studies, and there were many obstacles, especially involving her needed to undergo surgery. But since she's Esther, she's that strong lovable cheerful girl whom we would worry for but she wouldn't want us to worry for her.

4) She's smart and witty, but not snobbish or kiasu. She's just the person who studies and play. Balanced, we called it.

5) She's a fast learner. She could learn Korean just by watching Korean series. She could speak Cantonese, Mandarin, English, Foochow, Hokkien, Korean, and even God knows what because she was sporting and exposed to a variety of cultures.

So dear Esther, since you are finally entering this legal age, I hope that you will enjoy your birthday to the fullest and have a great year ahead of you~! Though we seldom communicate now except through facebook or occasional smses, that doesn't mean I have forgotten you. Nobody could forget you, Esther for you have been such a significant character in most people's lives. Last but not least, may all your wishes come true.. ;)

Dearest Pei Lee,

If you are reading this, I want to let you know that I am thinking of you today. Because today is your significant day. The word significant reminds me of literature, and the word literature reminds me of poem. So here I am, trying to make a poem for you. I know that we both hate to connote the meaning of poems in literature, so the poem I am going to make for you has no connotation, just had the denotation, because 1) We hate making connotations, and 2) I am not a poet.. =)

It's almost a year since we first met,
Though I don't really remember the exact date,
It was during the orientation,
We made our connection,
I am glad I met you,
For if no I would feel blue.

You accept me as I am,
And respect me as your friend.
Though I don't deserve much respects,
From any kind of aspects.
You are a sentimental person,
I know this from my observance.

You always made me feel appreciated,
When I always feel that I am underrated.

A Very Special Day for A Very Special Girl...

I never forget that she was the first to smile to me when I first came to my hostel.
But I spoke Malay to her at first just to be on the safe side. :"

But after that I spoke Mandarin to her because she can tolerate my broken Mandarin like my friends back at home. Hehe.. Thanks, girl~!!

Our first time camwhoring together. Little did we know that was our same thing in common which will last for a very long time - Camwhoring.

Then, this was my first time eating with Lee Ying at Bali Bali. Such a cool place to eat for first year students on their early weeks here lah, katakan. Hehe. We always had tradition of ordering different food and exchange them. Sharing is caring, as the saying goes.



Why is Lee Ying special?

1) Lee Ying is always good at taking pictures. You see, the first picture of her up there was taken by her. She had a good angle in taking a picture.

At Penang Hill's birds' farm.

2) She is a daring person. Look at how daring she is by just taking the snake up with her left hand. I don't dare to do that, I tell you. [ That day, it was even hard for me to collect all my nerves to take picture with the snake's tail. Yes, I thought I am not really afraid of poisonless snake, but since I'd ever ate a snake, so I was afraid that the snake will take revenge on me that time for eating his/her species. I am not kidding, my senior told me that she ever encountered a snake, and from that moment on, she did not dare to eat snakes' meat.]
3) She has a smile that will brighten up your day. Look how bright the day is from the picture above when she smiled. ;)



4) She is photogenic when she did not even try. Proof? The picture above! I took it without her knowing, and voila, it became a masterpiece photo portrait.. (*-*) --> (ignore the exaggeration from the photographer, if it wasn't for the good model, this would not be a masterpiece at the first place)

But the most special thing about her is, she is a really good friend someone can have. Why? She can tolerate with everything, she is really patient, and really independent. Eventhough she looked younger than her age, she is really matured in her thinking. :)

Aww~ (sniff sniff) Ahem, I want to thank my family and friends for making me felt wonderful during my birthday.. Thanks for making this insignificant bug feel significant in your eyes.. =) Love you guys!! My besties at Kuching called me and sang a Happy Birthday song to me after the clock struck 12 and I wished I recorded it... And I got to speak with them one by one, Steph, Amanda, Sally and it was my first time speaking to Pamela.. All this while, just know her through my friend's description and also through her blog.. Steph told me she's a cool and sporting girl, and I agreed to the fullest.. ;)They made me felt near with them though miles apart....... I opened my present from my besties and they gave me Sidney Sheldon's novel.. I love his novels!!! It's hard to find his novels nowadays with all the new writers springing up.. I love you guys!!!! Miss ya!!!

This morning, two phone calls. One from eldest sis, whom I answered half awake cause I was so sleepy, then the second was from my parents.. Miss you, family!!! I thought the cats and kittens at home took over our place as their children, but I guessed wrongly.. :) They still treasured me the same!! Mom said gonna celebrate belated birthday at home, combined belated birthday with herself, my sis and I.. I love belated birthday!! Funny but true.. I reeeeeeeeally love it...

My Roomie is Finally Legal !!!

Today is a very special day.. *grinning excitedly*

Urm, actually I am not really sure which day is more special, the day she first came into the world or the day when I first met her.

But anyways, birthday is always the number one on the list, so I guess birthday is more important.. So...

During my orientation week, I did not have a room mate.

I just had neighbours, which were Lee Ying and Tina.

So, I really did not know how it must feel to have a room mate and I was nervous to meet my new room mate.

There were a few questions popping out on my head.
1) What will she be like?
2) How must she feel about my abnormal character?

Ah, all those excited feelings..

I kept praying and wishing that I will be placed in a room with someone
who would be nice to me, someone who would accept me and my flaws
(I am a messy and crazy person), and someone who would not make me feel tension
and instead made me feel at home and let me act like usual, and most important of all,
someone whom I can share my problems with.
And I guess I got more than what I could asked for, because I got her.. :)
[ Not as a wife, ah, don't simply think I am homo or what, I got her as a room mate, a pretty close room mate.. ;)]

She was one understanding friend someone could have.
Thinking back, I was quite ashamed I always complain that I am unlucky, but hello, I am actually very lucky in my life, to have her as my room mate!!
And this alone could actually compensate all the other unfortunate events cause at the end of the day, I would share all my stories of unfortunate events and laugh it all along with her.
Thank you, God, for answering my prayer by giving me this cutie roomie!!

Though we may be in the second year the next semester, and hehe, we joked about that koleksi khas and rak terbuka thingy, [long story made short: rak terbuka and koleksi khas is about the girls' rank in the university.. hehe.. The joke's concept goes like this. If you're a first year, you will be exclusive and be the most wanted girl like the books in koleksi khas.. All the guys have their eyes on freshie girls, right? Jangan berani nak deny pulak!! So, if we become second year, we would be like the books at rak terbuka, not exclusive, easy to borrow, can be important sometimes, and not really wanted.. ouch!! Well, the 3rd year is the most pathetic of all.. Being compared to a newspaper.. Lol.. Only wanted for a day, and after that day or week, nobody wana read you again!!!) we will always be strong and don't let our age (which is always growing) affect our happy-go-lucky outlook.. ;)

Camwhoring in the library.. ;) That time we were in the koleksi khas.. Wah, haha, pun intended..

Tonight's The Nite!!

Well, I'm not talking about the Earth Hour Night, but

Ta-daa!!

Masquerade Night!!

So, obviously, I could not participate in the Earth Hour Night because I am going to attend a Masquerade party tonight (CUS club farewell party) and who turned off electricity during a party, right? But the positive thing is, I am participating in this Earth Hour indirectly because when I go to the party, that automatically means I am switching off the lights in my hostel... ;)
Which means I am not violating the Earth Hour Night too, right?
Bijak, kan.. No compromise here.. ;)

If I don't go to the party, well, the lights at the party's location will still be turned on whether I'm there or not, so better be there than be at my hostel where the lights will be switched off automatically by the university's administration from 9 pm to 10 pm.

Besides, I am the one who always switched off my lights when sleeping, even when my room mate's not here. Though sometimes I am scared of the dark, I switched off the lights too. See how much I am pro in switching off the lights?? I switched the lights off more than one hour if you wana accumulate them, so don't see me as a criminal for attending a party tonight.
(Wana feel less guilty for not participating directly in the earth's hour)

Okay, so happy switching off the lights to you guys and happy masquerade night to me..

Supersticious Alert!!

It's already past 12 am in Malaysia, and the date is 13th March 2009, and this date falls on Friday.

In short, it's Friday the 13th.

Actually, I did not notice it but when my Facebook friend mentioned about it in her shout out the other day, I was like, man, how come I overlooked the date??

So, what do you think all the superstitious people out there are gonna do??

Let me guess...

a) The superstitious students would stay at their hostels to avoid any bad karma or any unfortunate happenings.
Action taken: Skipping classes and lectures.
Outcome: Minus one attendance. 30 something percent of getting barred from exam. Talking about unfortunate event.

b) The supersticious workers would stay at home and probably won't get out of the bed, cause afraid later something terrible might happen at their working place.
Action taken: Skipping work.
Outcome: Your boss gonna have bad impression about you. MC? Not an excuse.. Huh~ You're not healthy and tough enough to be his/her employee!!

c) The supersticious females would try to mandi bunga to keep the bala away. As the Malay people said "Mandi bunga untuk buang bala."
Action taken: Plucking all those beautiful nice smelling flowers.
Outcome: Less beauty on earth. Mother Nature's gonna haunt you!!

I, on the other hand, am gonna continue my Friday routine as usual.. Why? I am not superstitious. Nothing bad gonna happen to me on this date.

This Historical Day...(4th March 2009)

Today, I create a new blog for myself.. Again!! Well, I keep creating new blogs, but still keeping the old blog because I think the previous blogs just show certain parts of me, and one of them was too dark and emo and I brought all my sad feelings out when reading that blog, so now I hope to create a blog which shows the whole of me.. With the creation of this new blog, I hope I can voice out my opinion, share my mad stories and some other boring stories too, know myself more, improve my writing skills, improve my photo-taking skills (which needs a lot of improvement right now), and most importantly, as long as when I come and read back the posts that I've created, I may drain all my sad feelings after that - and not inviting those sad feelings back instead... Happy birthday, new blog!! Hehe.. Oh, my!! Happens to fall on my sister's birthday too!!
