Sometimes, I wish I have my own reality show...

I hope there's a video camera capturing every moment of my life though my life is not very interesting..

It's because though my life isn't interesting and I don't always get invited to parties or big events, I always witness something interesting.. Something which was meaningful that could make me tear up on the spot if I lose my self control.

Question 1:

Have you ever seen a Muslim friend helping a Christian girl sticking the posters which promote the Christian club around campus late at night?

I have seen that. And that Muslim girl is my good friend, Pizal.. She insisted on helping me to stick the Catholic Undergraduate Society posters though I asked her not to.

Question 2:
Have you ever heard a Muslim friend advising her Christian friend to pray before and after eating a meal or even a simple bread or kuih?

I have heard that. And that Muslim friend is my good friend Hawa, and she always remind me to pray before and after eating according to my own religion. And I always remembered to do that ever since. Thanks girl..

Have you ever seen three strangers from different races, Malay, Indian and Chinese ended up becoming friends during a Ko-K activities?

Well, I have never seen it, but I did experienced it, because the Malay girl was Salwa, Indian girl was Hema, and I was the Chinese girl. We met while I was taking the swimming Ko-K last year. We ended up becoming friends, both of them helped to teach me how to swim as I was the slow learner. I always joked that we made "Iklan Petronas" while socializing together.

If you think One Malaysia is only a failed mission, you could be wrong because it was already possible even when One Malaysia haven't start. Actually, we did realized about the importance of unity among races long before, it was just that sometimes we didn't realize it because we just thought that we were friends so naturally - we forgot that we were actually befriending someone from different background, different races, and different beliefs, because we focused on the similarities rather than the differences. And that was the good thing about it. We look as our friends not based on their physical differences but something beyond that, which is our thinking and our stand.

So, don't try hard to pick someone who is different from you and be friends with them just to fulfill the so-called One Malaysia. Let your friendship work out naturally. Just focus on someone who has the same thinking as you, and you will be surprised that the person who has the same thinking as you usually comes from a very different background, different belief, and different practices.

And that is the foundation of a friendship that will last rather than just a semester's friendship.

KESIMPULAN: DALAM PERSAHABATAN, ANDA TAK PERLU MENGUAR-UARKAN KONSEP SATU MALAYSIA DAN MEMBUATKAN PERSAHABATAN ANDA NAMPAK PALSU.
BIARKAN PERSAHABATAN ANDA BERMULA DENGAN NATURAL, TANPA PERLU SENGAJA BERGAUL DENGAN ORANG YANG BERBEZA HANYA UNTUK 'MEREALISASIKAN' KONSEP INI KERANA AKHIRNYA ANDA AKAN SEDAR DENGAN SENDIRINYA YANG ORANG YANG BERBEZA DENGAN ANDA SEBENARNYA ADALAH LEBIH MENYERUPAI ANDA DARIPADA ORANG YANG SAMA DENGAN ANDA.

PEACE~!!

Why I Like It Longer

I am a girl with short hairs, short fingers, and short nails.

Look how macho I am in this pic!! -__-

I think that made me so unsexy. Though I am comfortable in my own skin, sometimes, I wish that I could have something long, instead of always short,

for example, a long hair to feel feminine and attractive, just like in the pictures below:

sexy Sienna Miller

elegant Sienna Miller

Yeah, Sienna Miller! She's all that! Slim, tall, fit, and lean, the one thing that bring her beauty to the utmost maximum is her long feminine hair.

If I have these long hairs (on my head instead of on my legs), I would not be labeled as a tomboy, but instead da bomb!

But yeah I know, it was just all in a label. I know I won't be comfortable in long hair because my personality suits short hair better (I used to have long hair before, but it doesn't bring out my personality), but I just need SOMETHING to assure that I am as feminine and as elegant as girls with long hair, even with my messy short hair, short fingers, and short nails.

And I just realize that,

the ANSWER to my NEED is THIS:

LG Chocolate Phone (BL40)!!!

Why? Why do I need this phone just to make myself feel more confident and less insecure?

Let me tell you why!

First of all, it's obviously because of the beautiful design.

Besides, the length of this phone brings out the utmost design of the phone. Just like Sienna Miller looks her best with long hair, this phone looks the best with its long length. So, if I own this phone, I would feel like the girl with the pretty long hair inside, but at the same time still comfortable in my own skin, in my own physically short hair.

Why I like it longer?

The long length of this phone makes it more elegant. Being a student, it's hard to be elegant as I always wear sneakers and jeans to class. But to own something elegant like this open the eyes of people that students like me could be elegant too! ;)

I wanna own this 'Supermodel' phone!

And I prefer something with wide screen. This phone has a four-inch wide screen with crystal clear HD resolution to give viewer a cinematic experience even through the cellphone. The length of the phone makes it more appetizing to watch movie through the phone, and the wide screen enables you to take full length picture easily even when you are near to the subject!

Besides, there are other features and functions of this phone make it so desirable, because it's a all in one functions where I can do almost anything that a student have to do, e.g: check e-mail, chatting, taking pictures for projects, socializing, etc. This phone is good to cope up with my hectic lifestyle this semester.

So, since I couldn't become a supermodel in real life, at least, at least, can I have this
'Supermodel' phone? (*=*)

Facebook's book campaign!

It was just one of my silly gestures - to put this "posing with book" photo as my facebook's profile picture.

I thought, maybe, if I try to pose with the book of my hardest subject and put it as a profile picture in facebook, maybe I will get a blessing for doing it. Silly, right??

But to think it back, it wasn't that silly anymore since my sister's best friend was trying it out too. I thought she was joking but then she was serious. *touched*

She really did put it as her profile picture. :)

Urm, since I didn't ask for my sister's bestfriend's permission to put her photo in my blog, I have to edit this picture to protect her privacy. PS: I love you, Amy for believing in me. I hope you get a good result, especially in this subject, and get a good reward. Maybe many, many cash for getting 4 pointer in your exam. (*=*)

Never would people put a second thought on any of my theory, or the superstition that I created (eg: tell your cat not to go that far, "ho ho ah, be sai cin cai cau ah *insert cat's name*"before you let your cat go outdoor) before, including my own family.

But here, Amy, my sister's best friend participated along in my idea which may sound odd or even crazy, but we hope this experiment will come out with a good result. We wanted to make an experiment whether this posing-with-your-academic-book-as-a- profile-picture really works.

Now, it's just the two of us doing this book campaign, but coming soon, I will recruit my roommate too, to pose with her academic book as a facebook profile picture! Woo hoo~! I will include her unedited picture here after I asked for her permission. :)) She already posed with her book and will only upload it to her profile once she go back to her hometown since USM line is helpless.

Ok, so you doubt this theory.
Now, let me tell you logically why it would work.

*thinking mode*

Reason 1: Most of us log in to facebook daily. And of course we will see our own facebook profile photo everytime we log in to facebook. When you see the book that you are posing with, you will automatically be reminded of that subject, thus, you will feel guilty, then you will at least try to take a look at a few pages of the book. Logic, right? Hmmm.

Reason 2: Some of our lecturers may have facebook. So, if you happen to pose with the book of your lecturer's teaching subject, you are superlucky. Your lecturer will think that you did not take his/her subject for granted, thus will maybe give better attention to you, or even give you the tips for the exam!

There's nothing to lose, right? For posing with your book. Okay, even if it doesn't work, there's still a consolation awaiting you. Who knows maybe your junior from the same school will notice the book and try to purchase it from you in the future.

Hmm, not negative outcome, right?

Why don't you join this book campaign right now?

>--(*=*)--<

PS: I am just welcoming, no forcing here. LOL. This post existed due to this stressful week.

Finally I finished my story...

So my creative writing lecturer was giving us a task to write a fictional story. He asked us to generate our ideas from the word dress. He asked us to list down all the things connected with a dress in a mind-mapping manner. I listed out hand-me-down, girl, black dress, tailor-made, party, and expensive brand.

Then, I picked out girl, hand-me-down, and black dress from the list. I was in a mission to create a story. And the idea for the story turns out to be like this. [PS: I am using the first person point of view to write this story, but for the synopsis, I write it in this manner.]

By the way, I name this story as "Measure of a Success."

It is a story of a girl who was the youngest among three sisters. She never really owned her own dress as a child, and she always wore the hand-me-down dresses. She was envious of her classmates who got to wear brand new expensive dresses to school everyday. Her parents, on the other hand, could not afford to buy her a new dress as they came from a poor family. She wore her sisters' hand-me-down dresses and she was quite annoyed because they usually ran out of style once it was her turn to wear them. So, she had an idea to decorate her old dresses with flowers from her backyard or beads from her mother's bead collections. She showed up at school with her re-designed hand-me-down dresses and it was a hit. The next day, the other girls followed suit. She was proud, because by the tender age of six, she was already a trend-setter.

Everyone was impressed by her passion in redesigning her own clothes, except for her mother. Apparently, her mother disapproved of her hobby in clothes-designing. Her mother commented that she ruined the dress by making them looked funny, and that she should just focus on her studies or mix around with the other kids, instead of sitting indoor, designing clothes. Her mother wanted her to be the same like the other children, yet outstanding, like being smart in studies and sports. So, to please her mother, she gave up her hobbies in designing clothes and occupied herself with studies and school stuff. She became straight-A students, from primary school till secondary, just like her sisters, but she felt that she was losing her essence, her one true self. She was good at studies, but studies wasn't her niche.

One day, while babysitting for her neighbour's kids, she ran across an advertisement for a clothes-designing contest. The theme for the contest was "Dare to be Different". The advertisement stimulated her yearning in designing clothes, but there was a catch. The registration fee for the contest was RM50. It was a big amount for her as she came from a poor family. But the prize money was attractive, RM 10 000. She was determined to join this contest, and she went back home to fork out some money from her saving. She only had RM50.

At the same time, her mother asked for RM45 from her to buy a text book for her sister. Her sister needed the text book for her experiment the next week, so she urgently needed to buy it. She was torn. There was no way she is going to give up on her passion for the second time. She walked silently to the store room, took out some old dresses from the plastic and she saw a beautiful black dress. She tore the long skirt to a certain length, added some feathers and shiny black beads and voila, it transformed into a trendy, modern classic black dress. She saw the result and was satisfied with it. After drinking in the look of the dress, she finally made her decision.

She gave her RM50 saving to her mother.

A week later, she felt quite anxious because it was the competition day. She felt the anxiety though she wasn't one of the contestants because she couldn't let go of the thoughts of "What if I had registered for this competition?" from her mind. Her intuition led her to the store room to change into the black dress. She wanted to attend the competition in the black dress to express herself, and to mourn for her opportunity being gone. By the time she arrived at the competition venue, she saw all of the finalists for the contest standing in a line, waiting for the verdict to be announced by the judges. She looked at all of the finalists, realizing it could be her standing there. Tears stung in her eyes. Maybe her passion and ambition to be a fashion designer would not come true and remained just a dream, she thought sorrowfully. She could not control her emotions, and she sobbed, loudly enough for the other audience to stare at her strangely. But she could care less about their impression towards her. Even the judges seated at the front noticed her. The judges were whispering something among themselves, she was embarrassed and walked out of the building to the stairs. There, she sobbed her heart out.

Out of the blue, she saw a masculine hand handing her a handkerchief. She looked up and saw a familiar face. It was Sheeko, the famous fashion designer in Malaysia. He introduced himself as one of the judges and he told her he was intrigued by her sudden appearance among the crowd. He asked if she made the dress herself. She told him redesigned an old dress and he seemed impressed. He apologized that he could not put her into the competition due to the rules and regulations, but he said he would like her to join his team of designers, as one of his protegees. He said that she was what this competition was all about, being "Dare to be Different". She could not believe her ears. Even the cheers from inside the building as the winner was announced could excite her no more.

Her family was speechless when she blurted out the news to them. Her mother was amazed by her determination as she'd always gave in to her before. Teary eyes, her mother looked at her and apologized for not accepting her hobby which turned out to be her ambition and her dream. She told her that she realized that brain and intelligence is not the only measure of a success, but being happy with what you do is the real measurement of success.

Up till today, she still keep her black dress in her boutique, exhibited for all to see. The black dress would always be a reminder and a symbol to her that your passion is the real measure of your success.

PS: I know this story is not a masterpiece, but I still want to put a sign of "DO NOT PLAGIARIZE" and Maureen's copyright.

Who Were You In Your Past Life/ Lives?

After watching Oprah this morning where the audience of the Oprah Winfrey show studio got hypnotized by a hypnosis expert to let them recollect the memories of their past, curiousity got the best of me and I wondered who I was in my past life, or may I say past lives. A black woman among the audience who experienced the hypnosis said that she remembered that she was a white nun in the past. Totally opposite of who she is now since she's black and married. A white woman claimed that after the hypnosis, she remembered that she was a Red Indian lady with a lots of children though she cannot have children in her present life. Seems that we are condemned to live an opposite life to what we'd experienced before, huh~ So, I surf the internet (the easiest research method, thanks to internet) and began checking out this website.

http://www.thebigview.com/pastlife/

This is a website which diagnose your past life based merely on your birth date. So, I think, though I began to believe in the existence of past lives, I think that the result of the diagnosis is not that accurate cause, first of all, many people shared the same birthday. So most people will get the same reading. But, that doesn't mean the reading is totally wrong. Some of the description in the result may contain some kind of truth in it.. Hmm..

Here's my
past life diagnosis..

Your past life diagnosis:

I don't know how you feel about it, but you were male in your last earthly incarnation. You were born somewhere in the territory of modern Poland around the year 700. Your profession was that of a digger, undertaker. --> this is sooo not me!!!

Your brief psychological profile in your past life:
Person with huge energy, good in planning and supervising. If you were just garbage-man, you were chief garbage-man. --> a compliment, though with a not-so-impressive example, so I just sip this in..

The lesson that your last past life brought to your present incarnation:
You are bound to solve problems of pollution of environment, recycling, misuse of raw materials, elimination of radioactivity by all means including psychological methods. --> Ok, this is quite accurate. I dislike it when my family switch on the air-cond, I can't stand watching raw materials gone to waste, and I am into recycling. ;)

Do you remember now? No, I don't..

Urm, believing in past lives doesn't mean that I had a doubt in my religion.. I believe that God is fair in his judgment, so reincarnation to me, is the fairest thing to a person to get their second chance and complete what they could not complete in their past lives. And I still believe I was a beautiful heiress in my past life. Serious..

If I Were You, I could do a lot better? -->Easier said than done

Sometimes, it's easy to tell our best friends that "All the guys are blind for not noticing you" and "If I am a guy, I would definitely fall for you." Of course it's easy, because in our real life, we would not experience something that happened like in THE HOT CHICK movie, where a girl ended up switching body with a guy. (Unless, you can prove your statement by changing your gender through all the operation and start chasing your own best friend, whom by the way, will feel odd and nauseating because you were her best friend and you were a girl, and would only remain friends with you, not more than that.) But changing your gender to become a male is a big difference with born as a guy. Get what I mean? I mean, guys have their own hormones and why some guys cannot seem to be sensitive to girls' feelings are just as mysterious as how women are not acting the way they think. Now I feel bad for stereotyping the guys, but oh well, the guys are stereotyping girls too, so I take back the guilty feeling. I hope I can do a research on how guys think and write a best-selling and earn zillions. *Don't wake me up*

Therefore, I could not make any promise like I can treat my girlfriend good if I were a guy or I can be a better mother if I were (Britney Spears?) or something like that. Becoming somebody is not just for a moment, but it's for the rest of our lives. So, there is nothing like, if I were you, I could do a lot things better because you still have no idea what it feels like to be in their shoes. Deciding is not only based on our thinking, it's based on the circumstances we are facing too. Every little decisions lead to another events, and another event leads to decision making. In the philosophy course that I took last semester, my lecturer said that we could not escape from making decision. Even when we said " I don't want to decide" we are already making a decision for not wanting to decide. See the logic?

There you go. Now, think before you say something which involves a lot of discussions. Whoa~

Madness Makes My Brain Go Round-Round to other Irrelevant Things

I had rejected my sister's invitation to dine with her for two days in a row. Wa lao eh~ Sorry, sis.. Did not do this on purpose. Got lots of work to do..
And I had my LSP interview this morning. Thank God it was over.. Yay!
I don't really care what the result will be cause I have other things to worry about now..

MAD WORRY LIST
1) SHE project

2) HXE (ASS)ignments

3) Semantic online task

4) How I'm gonna lose my pimples for the upcoming masquerade party this Saturday if I keep getting not enough sleep? (-_-) [yawning~]

5) Do I need to repeat my History paper cause it was one of my TERAS and I got a D for it?
(Cis, I thought my History is history already!!)

6) Not to forget my Spanish test tomorrow which I haven't even start my revision?
(No lo se!!)

7) And LSP listening test this Thursday? (Remind me to korek telinga.. wuwu~)

8) I have a mountain of laundries which I haven't wash...
(Mama, please come to Penang *battling eyelashes*)

By the way, our LSP teacher was kind of asked us this interesting question
"If you were given a chance to read someone's personal diary, whose would it be?"

The answers from my classmates were, future husband [which I also thought about ;) ]
Adolf Hitler's diary [gerenti 18 SG punya diary cause so many violence caused by him]
God's diary [no comment], and also siblings' diary.
And guess what my answer was? Hehe..
It was a priest's diary..
I wanted to read the private diary of a priest because I want to look at the daily lives of a person who's more into the spiritual outlook than the worldly outlook..
Besides, I added that time, by reading the diary of a priest, I can know the secrets of other people too because people go to confess their sins to a priest, so a priest's private diary is like the key to every other secrets especially the nasty secrets.. ;)

The second question that my LSP teacher asked us was that among the four given adjectives,
"Intelligent, happy, rich, famous"
Which one would we choose?

Majority of the answers were intelligent. The reasons given by my classmates were that if we are intelligent, the other 3 aspects will come eventually (which I really agree with) and some mentioned about world domination, and some mentioned about gaining respects from others.
Well, my answer was intelligence too.

The reason why I chose intelligence was that, intelligence was the only thing that is permanent.
Fame does not last long because every famous people has their own fame time.
Riches, of course, is not long lasting too because money and possessions will finish eventually.
Happiness too, unfortunately, is temporary because we cannot be happy all the time. If you disagree with me, let me ask you, when you lost someone you love, doesn't it hurt you?
That's what I felt when I lost my grandmother when I was eight, and the sad feeling of loss was experienced everytime when my cat went away or dead. (-_-)

Well, intelligence on the other hand, sticks with us, and stays permanent with us.
So, I guess, being intelligent is the safest option among the four choices.
As mentioned by my classmates, being intelligent can promise us the other 3 aspects but none of the other can promise us to be intelligent.

Updated, on the same day: Err, I guess I forgot my super important file in the library.. (Which contains my Spanish workbook and notes!! Wuwu~ )

Supersticious Alert!!

It's already past 12 am in Malaysia, and the date is 13th March 2009, and this date falls on Friday.

In short, it's Friday the 13th.

Actually, I did not notice it but when my Facebook friend mentioned about it in her shout out the other day, I was like, man, how come I overlooked the date??

So, what do you think all the superstitious people out there are gonna do??

Let me guess...

a) The superstitious students would stay at their hostels to avoid any bad karma or any unfortunate happenings.
Action taken: Skipping classes and lectures.
Outcome: Minus one attendance. 30 something percent of getting barred from exam. Talking about unfortunate event.

b) The supersticious workers would stay at home and probably won't get out of the bed, cause afraid later something terrible might happen at their working place.
Action taken: Skipping work.
Outcome: Your boss gonna have bad impression about you. MC? Not an excuse.. Huh~ You're not healthy and tough enough to be his/her employee!!

c) The supersticious females would try to mandi bunga to keep the bala away. As the Malay people said "Mandi bunga untuk buang bala."
Action taken: Plucking all those beautiful nice smelling flowers.
Outcome: Less beauty on earth. Mother Nature's gonna haunt you!!

I, on the other hand, am gonna continue my Friday routine as usual.. Why? I am not superstitious. Nothing bad gonna happen to me on this date.

URm, touch wood??
